Windows Phone hits 4% installed base in Italy
According to Statcounter Windows Phone has just crossed over into the 4% installed mark in Italy, one of Windows Phone’s most popular markets, where according to Kantar for the last few months consistently more than 10% of phones sold were Windows Phones.
As can be seen from the graph, growth really took off in July this year, and has been pretty steady since then, seemingly replacing Symbian handsets. Comscore data (via WindowsPhoneItaly) provide some insight into this, showing Nokia is still a major force in the market, with 35% market share, ahead of Samsung 28.3%, and the brand is obviously helping the OS there.
The boost is however part of a consistent lift which has seen Windows Phone hit 2% of the installed base in UK, 2.2% in France, 3.21% in Mexico and 2.07% in Switzerland.
