Nokia To Debut 41 Megapixel Lumia Branded Phone Later This Year?
It’s been almost an year since Nokia took covers off its incredible PureView 808 Symbian powered
smartphone. While it did not exactly set the sales charts on fire, one year on, it is still considered the best camera phone there ever was. While competitors did try to out innovate Nokia, the PureView by far leads the charts when it comes to sheer camera quality. Nokia themselves had a hard time trying to match the quality of the PureView – but they did come up with the Lumia 920 which boasts of exceptional low light imaging abilities - and not to mention, class leading video capturing ability.
What the Lumia 920 lacked however was the huge sensor seen on the 808. The PureView 808 as you might be aware, boasted of a 41 megapixel sensor which gave it the ability to achieve things like 4x lossless zoom – in both images and videos and to capture huge poster sized images of up to 38 megapixels in size. However, it seems Nokia is readying a brand new PureView branded device – this time powered by Windows Phone. And this one would get that huge 41 megapixel sensor – or may be a better version of it!
Rumors are on about Nokia’s new PureView handset that is set to debut most possibly on February 25. This device is rumored to get a 41 megapixel sensor and is likely too be dubbed the EOS. One feature that will make the EOS better the 808 PureView could be the floating lens technology that it would use. This would ensure that videos taken in shaky situations would turn out better. When it comes to still imaging, this will ensure less shaky images during low light photography.
Nokia has already issued invites to an event that is scheduled to happen on the 25th of February – on the sidelines of the MWC. It is thought that Nokia would have a few surprise up their sleeve on this day. My bet is on the new Nokia Tablet and the EOS.
