Windows Phone Store breaks 150,000 apps
Slightly hidden in Todd Brix’s announcement from this morning was the news that the Windows Phone Store has passed 150,000 apps.
The statement reads:
Over the last year we’ve certified and published over 75,000 new apps and games (more than doubling the catalog size)
… which gives us a total of more than 150,000 apps in the Windows Phone store.
As can be seen from the graph above, the acceleration brought on by the launch of Windows Phone 8 is very clear, and with the steadily increasing audience size drawing in developers I think it will not be too long before we cross 200,000 apps also.
Will the store then finally get some respect?
