RSA SecurID app now in the Windows Phone Store
The RSA SecurID authentication mechanism consists of a token — either a dongle or software — which is assigned to a computer user and which generates an authentication code at fixed intervals (usually 60 seconds) using a built-in clock and the card’s factory-encoded random key (known as the "seed").
The hardware is often used in enterprise settings for secure two factor access to company resources.
Those enterprise users who also use Windows Phones now have cause to rejoice, as their phone may soon be able to replace their keychain dongle.
The RSA SecurID® authenticator app for Windows Phone has now arrived. This app, when provided with a software token, generates one-time passwords for accessing network resources. After downloading and installing the app on your mobile device, you need to contact your IT administrator for instructions on how to get your unique RSA SecurID Software Token Record. The application will not generate one-time passwords without completing this step.
