Nokia confirms January end of UK EE exclusivity for the Nokia Lumia 920, but O2 still not carrying the handset

In a press release Nokia confirmed the that the Nokia Lumia 920 will become more widely available in January in the UK, spreading from EE, Orange, T-Mobile and Phones4U to Vodafone, Carphone Warehouse, Three UK and retailer Micro-P. It is of note that O2, the carrier most associated with the iPhone, is not on that list.

Nokia also announced the Nokia Lumia 820 would be available on all carriers, including Vodafone, EE, Orange, T-Mobile, O2, Tesco, Phones4U, Carphone Warehouse and Micro-P.

They also announced that the budget Nokia Lumia 620, which is likely to find great traction in the UK, will be available from February on Vodafone, O2, Three UK, Virgin Mobile, Carphone Warehouse, Phones4U and via Micro-P into independent retail channels.

While good news, the announcement, which is via site Hexus.net may have slipped out prematurely, as it may deflate last minute sales on EE while punters wait for the handset to arrive on their favourite carrier.
